Fully refurbished in late 2021 with a brand new look; Albert’s Shed is a stylish city centre restaurant with the advantage of a location at the centre of the Castlefield canal basin.
The restaurant has ample car parking and provides a picturesque environment for dining out with friends, family or colleagues.

The Castlefield Rooms offer a boutique, out of the ordinary, venue in central Manchester, in a stunning position within a conservation area on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal. With a superb location in Manchester City Centre, near all major transport links, complimentary on site parking and the highest levels of service and cuisine, the Castlefield Rooms are the perfect venue to hold your wedding, corporate event or party. We offer a choice of three contrasting spaces for anything from 25 to 250 guests together with a range of competitively priced event packages. The versatility of the spaces is also reflected in the variety of menus available from the acclaimed kitchens of Albert’s Shed Restaurant and Dukes 92 which are located on the same site as The Castlefield Rooms. Had a wonderful meal and the service was outstanding in particular Annie who looked after us so well and even surprised us with prosecco and a chocolate brownie with a birthday candle

From start to finish the experience was incredible. It was very busy but service was super attentive - we had an allergy on our table and staff were very accommodating, double checking every dish. Drinks were served quickly and food was also served relatively quickly too. The price is a bargain for the standard of food: it was delicious and presented beautifully too. My only note would be that the slow cooked beef was a smaller portion size than our other dishes but absolutely not a criticism as it was cooked to perfection and served beautifully. Desserts were also incredible, the brownie is a smaller portion size than the other mini dessert on the menu but again not a criticism as it was beautiful: just a note for other guests when ordering to keep in mind. Overall an incredible dining experience, we will be back!

I had a really lovely meal here. The staff were so friendly and kind. My cocktail glass fell over and smashed all over my food and the staff were so nice about it - they cleared up all the mess in no time and replaced all my dinner which helped me feel less embarrassed. Thanks so much to all the team for lovely food and friendly service.

Really enjoyed the special menu available at the moment which is excellent value at £14.95 for 2 courses and £18.95 for 3. It was beautifully presented and well cooked. I had the soup and chicken selection. My husband had the smash burger from the a la carte which he also said was great. It's a lovely restaurant with a warm ambience and friendly staff. We will certainly visit again when in Manchester. Easy parking outside the door.

The food was amazing! So well rounded and tasty, fine dining at its best. Prices absolutely reasonable. 100% recommended

I organised the booking of this venue on behalf on a group of 10 friends. 7 of the group arrived early. We were taken to our seats, waiting for the remainder of the party. Two members of the party wanted to hang up their coats, but there did not seem to be anywhere to do this. They went for front of house, but again there was no member of the team around, causing a bit of confusion. Nobody came to the table after seating to ask if we needed drinks, or even water. After the remainder of the ground arrived on schedule, again nobody came to take a drinks order. I personally tried to catch the eye of both the (overworked) waitress, and also the lady I assumed was the manager. I would suggest it was at least 20 mins before one of the group had to attract the manager (by almost shouting) to take the order. From then on, things went fine, as I noted more staff appeared, but it did leave me rather worried for the remainder of the meal as to if food/drinks would arrive, however overall everything was fine., although it was noted that at least one table who came in after our full table had arrived, who had their order taken - and food arrived - before our group. I did observe the waitress was working alone for quite some time, which I am sure is why she, and the manager, did not even look over to our table. I am Sorry to say this is bad planning on behalf of the restaurant. As mentioned above, once more staff appeared, all went fine, but I did feel disappointed, as I booked the venue in mid December, so it is not as though we were not expected. In summary, I am not given to leave bad review sites , but this was somewhat of a special occasion, and I did come away (sorry to say) feeling rather disappointed with the experience.

Me, my boyfriend and my best friend Paul and his boyfriend Kai had a meal here to say goodbye to Paul as he is moving to Gran Canaria with his boyfriend. What fabulous staff you have there, honestly, they are so lovely and down to earth, attentive but not overbearing, 100% deserve a bonus. The food was delicious, absolutely spot on, fabulous deal in for January, everything on the menu is outstanding. The cocktails are fabulous too. I only selected the noise as moderate because we were the 4 loud people in there!! Well done guys, keep up the good work, me and my boyfriend will be back soon!

Food was very average for the price paid, would expect better, ESPECIALLY the desert! It was so blatantly obvious it wasn’t fresh. I find it hard to see how you can think serving them brownies is acceptable when you’re charging £80 per person and you are meant to be a quality restaurant? You basically went and bought one the the £1 plastic tubs of 20 small brownies from Tesco! Overall food was poor, very small portion sizes which is fine when the food is quality - but this wasn’t the case. Atmosphere was good with the live singer and servers were helpful - just a shame about the food… which is the main part.
