We were promised a certain table in one room we asked for, but they told us...sorry we did not see what we promised...can we seat you somewhere else? Then once seated, we were waiting 20 + min to get a server to talk to use... very delayed attention from servers. They seemed confused as to who was supposed to serve us. At the serving time, we got a wrong salad dish...and the main came, when we asked the server among two identical main dishes which one was which (had asked one for well done), she threw the plates in front of us saying they are all the same,...Never before such rude experience...

We’ve been going to Back Burner for years and the food has gone down hill. Salads are great and shrimp lejon appetizer was good but dinner was just ok. Service was terrible. Waited 25 minutes for waiter to come to our table just for a drink order. I think the restaurant is just short staffed.

crab cakes were popular at our table, as was the pumpkin mushroom soup. I enjoyed the Duroc pork chop and (very creamy) mac and cheese. Special desert (whiskey/apple bread pudding) was plenty to share and delicious with ice cream and topping. a friend enjoyed a martini with his shrimp and scallop risotto. Conversation is possible here because the restaurant is quiet enough. Our server was experienced and knew the menu well. Service was excellent. No complaints at all.

Our book group of 12 women had our annual holiday luncheon here and the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Janet, did a great job attending to all our needs. She didn’t rush us and gave plenty of time to socialize and open presents. We were in the back room with the fireplace and the ambience of the area was very cozy and spacious. The food was very good and was served promptly and at the appropriate temperature. Highly recommend!!!!

It had been yrs since our last visit, but our next will be SOON. Service was attentive and friendly, and our crab cakes and NE clam chowder were excellent. A wonderful lunch.
