Celebrating its 118th Year, Barbetta is the oldest restaurant in New York still owned by its founding family. Barbetta is also New York's oldest Italian restaurant and the oldest restaurant in the Theater District. This three-fold distinction has earned it landmark status by the Locali Storici d'Italia. In a glittering interior decorated with 18th century Italian antiques Barbetta serves the cuisine of Piemonte, Italy's northwestern most region. In summer, its exuberantly verdant garden with century-old trees and scented with the blooms of wisteria, oleander, jasmine and gardenia make it a most sought-after site for al fresco dining.

Excellent food, impeccable service and a beautiful dining room. Overall a wonderful birthday celebration and holiday reunion for our family. We will definitely be back!

Although there is no brunch menu, the lunch menus (both prix fixe and a la carte) are good value and our choices met all our expectations, though the chocolate mousse did not measure up to my memory of that same dessert from several months ago. It was good, just not as good.

Everything was delicious. I was disappointed that no one told me I had to order from a prefix pre-theater menu. I was not informed that this is the case with dining before 8pm. Otherwise the evening was great.

Good food and service. Pre-show menu was good, but felt rushed. Ambiance was nice, but old, worn and very tired.

The service in Barbetta is impeccable. From bartenders, cloakroom attendant to maitré d , everyone is super accommodating. The food is delicious, honestly, the filet mignon is my staple there. Incredible. A must see in the theatre district. Enjoy!

Price fixe only menu seemed routine and nothing special. Service was mediocre ; not usual maitre de present. Enjoyed past visits , primarily in garden during the summer. This was somehow different. Menu needs updating. Seems more items on menu for price supplement. Restaurant should think about that.

The food is good the service was very good. This is an old-style restaurant with good service. The menu is pretty good for Northern Italian cuisine. Alot of fish and pasta choices not many meat choices. This restaurant is worth a try but not for everyone.

We had a superb experience. Our waiter was the wait staff captain Ramon and he ensured that our dinner was perfect in every way. The food is out of this world. We had the pre-theatre dinner and the portions were ideal over four courses. The restaurant has old-world elegance and charm and it’s a gem on Restaurant Row. We’ll be back!
