Authentic French restaurants are few and far between these days but Bistro Pierre delivers in true Gallic style. You’ll find this vibrant, inner-city eaterie in the heart of Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter near the world famous Mathew Street, in an old warehouse building which with its wooden floors and exposed brickwork has readily transformed itself into a rustic French bistro. Service is relaxed, warm and friendly.

We had tried to book 3 other favourite places, but they were all full, and we were pleased (and surprised) we could get a table at Bistro Pierre. We've always enjoyed our meals and time there, but we hadn't realised only a limited Christmas menu was available on this visit - maybe that's why there weren't many people in - and on a Friday evening in Liverpool. Our meals were just about ok, but there just wasn't the usual ambience you'd expect, and we all said we wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

I attended Bistro Pierre with a party of 7 and had an excellent experience. The food was lovely and served in a timely manner. The chocolate fudge brownie was arguably the best dessert I’ve ever had! Additionally, the service was great and staff were very friendly. The interior was very nice and clean, with ample space on the table. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in the city.

Bistro Pierre is a favourite restaurant and been there many times never had a bad meal there The staff are always friendly and attentive Christmas menu had a good choice of starters mains and desserts we chose turkey dinner followed by sticky toffee pudding with custard it was very tasty and good value for 2 courses Just love rustic charm and ambience will return in 2025

Food was fine, but portions are on the small side. There is a live music bar below so you get a continuous bass sensation pulsating through your chair. Restaurant itself was quiet and a bit shabby around the edges. Probably only half a dozen tables in when we were there. Service was fine. It’s been a good few years since we’ve been to a Bistrot Pierre and we were very disappointed compared to the standard we have experienced previously.

Beautiful ambience, busy yet retained an intimate atmosphere. Service was really lovely- attentive but not intrusive. Food was great and the live music was delightful. We will be back.

We were a group of five who had a variety of dishes from the menu and each of us were really happy with our choices. We have visited Bistro Pierre a number of times and are always impressed with the food we choose. I have to comment on the young man who waited our table yesterday 17th December. He was such a pleasant young man, smiling and making sure we had everything we needed. A credit to the restaurant. As usual I will be returning in the near future.

Been going here for years and it's never disappointed until last night. Very limited choice on Xmas menu and 2 choices unavailable. Chose from a la carte menu had veggie wellington- basically a pasty with no filling served with a bit of lettuce as potatoes and veg not included! £18 for a pasty! Hubby had beef beorginon which he's had many a time before - £20 for a watery stew. Daughter had steak - very fatty. Ordered portion of chips which were not pomme frites and a tiny portion. Totally devastated as this is my all time favourite resturant. Even the a la carte menu has limited choice of food. Wine very expensive and only choice of 2 wines by the glass. Staff were friendly but service quite slow.
