Blue Crab Grill in Newark, Delaware is known for offering a giant menu filled with seafood options. Though much of it is seasonal, you can always count on some items at Blue Crab Grill. For example, there is the steak and cake. You get a grilled beef tenderloin and jumbo lump crab cakes. Another standby at Blue Crab Grill is the surf and turf. This includes a five-ounce beef tenderloin steak and a five-ounce lobster tail that is served stuffed with crab imperial. The crazy jambalaya is very popular as well. Excellent value & generous portions of gourmet prepared seafood! The bisque and homemade rolls were delicious as well. Wonderful, attentive server made this experience very pleasant. I’ll definitely be back!

My reservation was for 8:30 pm we didn’t get seated until 9:15,we waited for someone to come over and offer us drinks which wasn’t until 9:45pm followed by bread for the table at 10pm we ordered an appetizer waiting for our entree’s and it came out completely burnt after an 30 minute wait so I sent them back.Now the entree’s came out by 11pm yes utterly ridiculous I sat that long because I worked all day and just wanted to eat I was starving only for my plate to come out looking greasy,the breading was falling off the food and the scallops looked browned as if they were burnt as well they didn’t offer no condiments for the shrimp or fish and I sent the whole meal back needless to say I ate when I got home!.

I booked a reservation for Valentines Day, for 7:45. My wife and I drove over an hour to try out this restaurant. Show up on time and there was like 5-6 people standing outside and around 10-15 people in the entry. All waiting to get a table for their reservations ranging from 6:30 to 7:30 all people were decently upset that they all know they wont get a table for V-day. I am excited to retry this restaurant but right now I am not interested in returning.

Valentine’s Day nightmare…almost 2 hrs, no appetizer, no entree. We only received drinks after 45 min. Left without being served.

Valentine’s Day dinner disaster. It appears they recently expanded the dining area, but I don’t believe they expanded the kitchen yet, which led to them not being able to feed everybody sitting in the new dining area. after an hour and 45 minutes and only having received our burnt appetizer shrimp and crab egg rolls, and a lot of apologies from the staff for the delays in the kitchen. The server, Michael was nice and did everything in his power to keep the customers happy, but ultimately it was a lot of customers leaving before receiving their food arrived due to the extreme delays. We have enjoyed our experience at blue crab in the past, but this night was an absolute disaster. I hope they make the changes needed to win back their customers.

We’ve dined here so many times. It seems they expanded the dining area. We were not aware of that change. The lights were turned up so bright and it felt like we were in the food court at the mall. Our waitress may have been new, it took about 20 minutes before we were brought water. Our food arrived so late and it looked like it had been sitting out too long under the lights. It was inedible. This was so disappointing, our vision of date night was a cozy table by the fish tank, which is why we made a reservation. Please pass on this review to the owners.

We waited about 20 minutes for our appetizer, which is not too bad. However, over and hour after the appetizer, our main course had not come out. Apparently, they just expanded the dining room but not the kitchen, and they could not keep up. The calamari appetizer was excellent, and our server Michael did everything he could do. Unfortunately, we had to ask for the check for the appetizer and cancelled the rest of the meal.
