The Bow Valley Ranche is located at the end of Bow Bottom Trail SE, in Fish Creek Provincial Park, just follow the signs for Bow Valley Ranche.

The Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant is the new fine dining facility located in the restored Ranche House. Their menu features a contemporary interpretation of Alberta regional cuisine. Today, the flavours and traditions of Alberta’s ranching heritage live on at the Bow Valley Ranche. Our Grand Salon holds approximately 110-120 guests. William Roper Hull and Senator Patrick Burns hold approximately 30-32 guests. Our John Glenn room, located in the upstairs, old master bedroom of the house, holds approximately 12 guests.

Sit down beside the massive fireplace in the Grand Salon or enjoy the covered wrap-around veranda during warm weather. Enjoy lunch, dinner, cocktails or weekend brunch. Reservations are recommended. Please note that we do not take reservations for the patio.

                                                Exceptional location, food and service. We were seated near the fireplace in the large dining room. On the Wednesday night we attended there were only three large tables and two tables of two so the place was nice and quiet. The strip loin and market vegetables were more than I could eat.

                                                So much less than we were expecting from a venue of this reputation and at this price. There was nothing exactly “wrong” with the food or service but it was not the refined or elegant experience we had hoped for while celebrating a special occasion. The table we were seated at had large, fabric covered chairs that were very dirty and unappealing. The table size was cramped for accommodating the food presentation and made for a bit of an awkward time. The noise level and general atmosphere of commotion was also unexpected. In fairness, our expectations were overblown but we set them ourselves and therefore can’t really place any blame. I would encourage future guests to expect less and perhaps enjoy the afternoon more and beware that the $$$ to value really isn’t there.

                                                Not quite the experience I was hoping for. Initial impressions were pretty good, then the food and drinks arrived. Our oysters were improperly shucked, cocktails missed the mark on how they were mixed. Mains were mediocre and seemed to have been sitting beneath a warmer prior to serving, as the demi-glaze had a film on the top. Definitely, there was a quality issue the night I went. Disappointing nonetheless.
