Food was incredible!! Gorgeous flavors! Loved the French onion soup and escargot! Entrees were fabulous too! Save room for the creme brûlée! :)

We have always come here when we visit New Orleans however first time post covid, I always get veal remoulade over grits this time it wasn’t lamb it was rabbit liver, it just wasn’t same quality their menu has changed alot- service still good

Cafe Degas came highly recommended by several people but I was very disappointed. The waiter never checked on us after we got our food. I had the pate and my date had escargot for appetizers. The best thing on the late plate was the roasted garlic and mini dill pickles. The pate was bland and tasteless and the toast points were not fresh : almost soft like the humidity had affected them. The escargot, he said was more like a smoked oyster. He had the lamb rack and I had the hangar steak. While they both were perfectly cooked , the flavor of the hangar steak was also mediocre at best and the pomme frites were soggy shoestring potatoes The lamb had a good flavor but the vegetables with it were not what was listed on the menu and when we asked the waiter what they were he kept trying to say a it was a type of squash When he described it as pear looking I finally guessed a mirliton and he said yes that’s it ! He was not very knowledgeable in my opinion of what was on the menu. I was quite disappointed because it had come so highly recommend and it was my birthday dinner.

The fish, soup and mussels were all excellent. We always have a good time but the kitchen yesterday was remarkably wonderful, and Mike’s service added to the experience.

Came here as a solo diner and felt so welcomed! Ate at a beautiful little table and had a drink at their intimate bar to cap off the evening. Food was fantastic, and the staff was knowledgeable on helping pair wines. I felt both taken care of and not rushed. Highly recommend!

Sunday lunch was great. The soups French Onion (always on menu) and broccoli (special) were excellent as well as our entrees. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was great as always. The weather was beautiful and the lovely outdoor breeze made our experience even better.
