No ordinary steakhouse restaurant, Capriccio Grill™ is known for having the best steaks in Memphis. Under the direction of Chef Andreas Kisler, steaks are flash-seared to seal in the juices and flavor producing the most succulent, flavorful steaks ever. Pasta dishes from "La Bella Italia" are cooked to al dente perfection and pizzas are wood-fired and served piping hot.

I ordered the pork tenderloin and sweet potatoes. The pork was dry and overcooked. I could barely cut it. I was not at all impressed.

At the time we dined, the restaurant was undergoing renovations; the restaurant had moved up one floor to the mezzanine level and it appeared the ballroom had been converted to a dining area; there were tables in the ballroom without privacy barriers so was somewhat noisy. In terms of the service, the waitress was polite and prompt. The menu was truncated because the restaurant was undergoing renovations. My wife and I split a salad; we both had 6 oz filet mignon. They were cooked to our requests (I had mine rare). The filet mignon did not come with anything else so we ordered a sauteed mushroom/garlic side dish. Dessert was very good. We ordered a creme brulee and it was delicious. We also ordered tiramisu, and it was in an edible chocolate mug.

The restaurant was being refurbished so they moved the tables to a ballroom. The menu was reduced, and several items were unavailable even at 6.30pm. My requested drink did not materialise and they eventually brought something different. When asked about deserts we were told there was a choice of two. We were not offered any compensation, or discount. We were actually very unhappy as it was our last night in Memphis and we had planned this as a special dinner.

Overall food was mediocre especially for a pre-fix menu for NYE. The scallops and crab cake appetizers were cold. The filet was meh, missing seasoning. The dessert tiramisu was also middle of the road. For price point there are better options in Memphis (go to Flight). The service is really where this place takes a dive. Did breakfast and dinner. The wait staff disappears for a long time and doesn’t bother to check in. At dinner the bread service never came, the waitress noticed and mentioned it but never rectified it. She also failed to bring the party favors due to each table, we had to get them ourselves on the way out. Generally, the wait staff acts like customers are a bother to them. Would not ear there again when I return to the Peabody

I had high expectations for my New Year’s meal at the Peabody Hotel restaurant - Capriccio, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. To start, there were no clear directions indicating that the only entrance was off Second Street, which was quite inconvenient, especially since I was wearing stilettos. This oversight set a frustrating tone for the evening. Once seated, I was left without a steak knife for the majority of my meal, which made dining unnecessarily challenging. Imagine cutting your food with a butter knife. The waiter continued ignoring me despite attempts to gain his attention. Additionally, I had to request champagne instead of being offered it as part of the New Year’s celebration—something I felt should have been more thoughtfully handled as it was listed with the advertisement. As the evening concluded, I learned that the "sweet treat" we were promised to take home was actually New Year’s hats. However, we were not informed about these on the way in, so many of us missed out on receiving them. While it’s always a pleasure to visit the iconic Peabody, this visit was disappointing. I’ve never been treated so poorly here before, and I hope this was an exception rather than the standard. Overall: A nice venue but a lackluster dining experience.

NYE 2024 meal did not deliver. Special occasion. Menu looked awesome. $135 per person no problem. I’ve been here previously Chicken pot pie appetizer, basically no vegetables in pie with diced chicken. Crab cake appetizer, little crab almost doughy Filet and lobster, filet spot on (only item saving rating from being a one) lobster tail size underwhelming, but prepared perfectly. Lamb chop consisting of 6 with little meat. Not tender. The desserts literally came from the deli across the hallway. No special NYE desserts. Also, just noticed on menu “special take home treat”. We. Didn’t get that. My point…. I’ve eaten here on regular steak menu and always awesome. Shocked NYE would be the off night. Will I go back, of course, just disappointed.

I called a week ahead of time on 12/25 at 3:18pm. I asked the lady who answered the phone if on New Years Eve, I could keep my reservation but eat on the regular menu instead of the preset holiday menu. The lady said yes … that would be ok. I arrived and was told that all reservations would have to adhere to the holiday menu. This completely ruined my New Year’s Eve plans.
