Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests abundant portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of made to order pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing among friends and family. The food was great for the price and portions! We weren't quite ready for how large those family portions are! Service was great. A nice place for a family and casual atmosphere!

Nowhere on Open Table does it say that a diner cannot order a single serving of any meal. Every entree, appetizer, dessert, etc. is an amount that serves 2 or 4 people. The menu has 2 sides - side one is considered the lunch menu, or what you can order for 2 people. Dinner entrees are servings for 4. Had we known this, we would never have gone to this restaurant. In addition, the food was not of the quality level we would expect from a restaurant that had gotten good reviews. Many people were happily taking food home. When you live out of town and are staying in a hotel, that is not an option. A great deal of food was left on our plates. An extremely disappointing dining experience.

I had been to Carmine’s in NYC but not DC. Loved the DC space - felt spacious & well situated. Convenient parking right next door. Service was phenomenal - from the smiling,efficient ladies at the front desk to our wonderful, extremely knowledgeable waiter. Food was fantastic - just a great time shared with friends in a perfect space!!

The penne alla vodka was one of the best I've ever had! All of the food we had (meatballs, bread, tiramisu) was absolutely perfect. The service was great and they even added candles to the tiramisu for my girlfriend's birthday!

We loved this place! Portions are massive so we agreed to share a little bit of everything. The food was amazing! Perfect restaurant to come with family or a group of friends. The atmosphere is very cozy. Our waitress was nice but it looked like she was extremely busy and she was nowhere to be found when we finished our meals so we had to wait about 15 minutes until we saw her again. We had also put a note that we were celebrating a birthday but it wasn't mentioned at any point so I would recommend just letting a waiter know what you are celebrating and skip the OpenTable request.
