Wonderful dining experience at Chapeau. This long-standing restaurant is better than ever. Fine cuisine, attentive service, and good wines. Quiet and tasteful environment. Probably the best French restaurant in San Francisco.

Happy with the grande menu prix fixe. The owner was out and about and the food was good. The service fancy touches but isn’t sterile like other places. We’re arrived for a 530 reservation to a quiet restaurant and by the time we were done it was busy buzzing and a bit crowded.

Chapeau does not disappoint! Everything was wonderful! We had escargot (the best in the city),chestnut soup, branzino and lamb shank. We have dined at the restaurant before and it is always spot on! Pascal is a great waiter! He is very attentive and professional! Desserts are a must! Crème Brule and Blueberry Clafloutis were delish! Our reservation was early, and the restaurant did get busy but we never felt rushed. We will return again and again!

Phillipe and Ellen continue to offer a delightful French bistro with a menu offering variety and style. Richard Alexander has been a fan of Chapeau doing back 20 years when they first opened on Lake west of the Park Presidio before moving to Clement Street and am pleased that their success is mirrored with a full house on Friday night with everyone having a good time enjoying a genuine French menu. My favorite is Phillipe's cassoulet with large beans, duck confit and garlic sausage and a big bold Chateau Neuf. Vive la France on Clement Street. A very special place to enjoy and treasure.

Philippe and his crew were outstanding. He makes everyone feel welcome and he is extremely attentive to people's needs. Great wait service as well. Extremely pleasant experience overall!
