Hilton Head Island's destination for beef & seafood lovers, Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse serves only the finest USDA Prime Grade Beef & fresh local seafood. An old English bar & heart of pine floors create the setting with warm, inviting service & an award-winning wine list.
The restaurant represents 4 generations & over 100 years of restaurateurs in the Crane family dating back to 1908, when an Irish immigrant, Frank Crane founded Crane's Tavern in Philadelphia. After prohibition Frank's son, Francis & his brothers opened the famed establishment at 333 Queen Lane, where his son, Hank worked until 1969. That year Hank ventured out on his own & opened a Crane's Tavern in Ambler, PA. & then purchased the Surf City Hotel on Long Beach Island, NJ creating yet another establishment with the Crane namesake. In 1999 he & his daughter, Beth Anne opened Crane's Tavern & Steakhouse on Hilton Head Island, SC where it has become a local favorite

                                                                        This was our first time at Crane’s and were exceptionally pleased. Our service was amazing as our server was friendly, thorough and attentive. All of our appetizers and meals were delicious. We will return!

                                                                        Went for NYE at 9 pm. Our table was ready, the server was great and the food was delicious and served in a reasonable timeframe. Portions were big. Would highly recommend.

                                                                        One of our favs when visiting Hilton Head, small, quaint, but very pleasant. Service is great and food choices are super. Had the Sashimi Tuna entree, very tasty. Highly recommended

                                                                        Our entire experience was outstanding - from service to appetizers to desserts. What we ordered - split shrimp cocktail. Cocktail sauce had a little zest to it (always appreciated!). French onion soup - phenomenal (would get this any time of the year and twice on Sundays if I could eat that much cheese!) and a Cesar Salad (excellent job of not over-dressing - just the right amount). I got the prime rib - very generous cut of meat (with broccoli and mashed potatoes) and my husband got the chicken with cheese and proscuitto - also excellent. We split the brownie sundae - a bit heavy on the caramel sauce but that is just a preference thing. Our server was great and very attentive. Will definitely be back when we visit HHI. This was a hidden gem.

                                                                        One of the best if not the best restaurant on the island. Steaks and Prime Rib dinners are the best meals that money can buy. Oh, by the way, cocktails are not bad either. My wife likes their scallops. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
