By the Docks is one of our favorites, mainly because the food is always excellent. While it can be pricy, the quantity and quality of the food makes you want to return. However, service and ambiance are not the best sometimes, and we have had more than one , actually, more than 5 instances where we were seated next to a large party, or a party that was just out of control. When you have to yell at your dining partner to be heard, and when your server is so consumed by serving the large party, we wonder if coming here is worth the trouble. This was the case this past Friday night. Our server took our drink order, served our food and brought us the check. That's the only times we saw him, as he was continually tending to the large, loud party seated in what used to be the Red Room. Food was great, ambiance and service was not. It's not that he was a bad server, we just got forgotten.

The food was great and our server was wonderful. There was a ravens game going on so it was a little louder than normal. But that’s OK.

The short rib is always excellent. Server was friendly.

Amazing staff! Beautiful setting. Cozy and fun for cool fall evening….but I can see all seasons being so perfect here. They had live music that was wonderful. Food and drinks delicious! All the stars. Will definitely be back!
