Roly's Bistro first opened its doors in 1992 and has served traditional European cuisine ever since. Lunch is served in the Bistro on Wednesday to Sunday with Monday and Tuesday lunch being served in The Terrace Restaurant. Dinner is served in the Bistro seven evenings a week. The menu caters for most palates with a Goat's cheese and vegetable tart and a selection of meat dishes from Roly's butcher block, such as sirloin steak and rib of prime Irish steak. Roly's Bistro is famous for it's fresh Dublin Bay Prawns Scampi & Chips, Fresh Dublin Bay Prawns with Garlic, Chilli & Ginger Butter and Dublin Bay Prawn Cocktail.

Bright and airy, with a vintage retro style and featuring distressed wooden tables topped in white marble, salvage greenhouse window frames and comfy linen banquettes, Salt continues Avoca’s emphasis on serving delicious, seasonal dishes with largely locally sourced ingredients. Salt's name comes its Salthill locale - which itself was derived from salt works that were once here - plus the nearby sea and, of course, the seasoning. We had a lovely time in Old Fashioned Sam’s last night! The building doesn’t look very big from the outside but is very spacious and fabulously decorated inside. We ate in the restaurant section where the staff was incredible attentive and the ambiance created by the music and lighting was perfect for a Saturday evening dinner and drink. Highly recommend the food and drinks and hope that Sam’s will grow in popularity in the new year!
