Populairste bistro's in La Perouse

Bistro Kai is probably the closest you will come to fine dining in Chatswood without any of the pretentiousness. The decor is comfortable and quite spacious and the service is not intrusive but friendly and helpful. The food is exceptionally good - we tried the octopus which was so very tender and well seasoned, the softest and tastiest sourdough from Cherrymoon Bakery that was toasted and served with a whipped Japanese style butter, the roasted brussel sprouts, the most tender wagyu beef short rib, a delicious chicken maryland with crisp skin and tender meat resting on mashed potato and an amazing abalone gravy (an amazing combo you should try) and their famous cheeseburger which was wonderful as usual. Paired with perfectly balanced creative cocktails, with the Pandan and Ube Irish Coffee and the Chonky Charlie Chaplin a particular standout. Very sad that their iconic tiramisu is not on the menu at the moment but hopefully will see a revival sometime soon! It is not cheap but not the most expensive either - our lunch came to $110pp including 2 alcoholic drinks each and 2 courses. But the food was exceptional and well worth the price. Definitely would recommend!

Excellent food, service, ambience. Oh if only the old guy at the next table hadn’t had such a loud voice! I heard him say to his two very quiet female companions that he had been in the army……!

Just all round amazing! What stands out most is the customer service. Everyone is friendly, kind and helpful. There is an amazing view of the beach and it’s a relaxed atmosphere. Love the soba noodles with tuna, always my go to.

My parents, my wife and I were in Syd for a few days from the Surf Coast in Victoria & decided to spend the afternoon in Bondi as my folks had never been. I had been many times to the RSL & always raved about the million dollar views & it was a magical sunny day to sit on the balcony to enjoy, a very pleasant experience.
