Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. In the Restaurant, sophisticated seasonal dishes are served in a refined setting with a weekly changing 3-course Lunch Menu du Jour, a seasonally-inspired 7-course Tasting Menu and an a la carte option. In the more informal Brasserie, a selection of favourites are cooked to perfection with the finest ingredients. The drinks offering is as exciting with an AA Notable Wine List, premium spirits, and cocktails. There is also a private dining room for corporate and private occasions.
Levan is a restaurant in the heart of Peckham serving contemporary European dishes, inspired by the ‘bistronomy’ movement and our favourite eateries in Paris, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Stockholm and Berlin, with a focus on low intervention wines. Join us for dinner and lunch in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We offer an a la carte menu and a £65pp chefs tasting menu. Groups over 5 will be asked to dine from the chefs menu. An intimate & informal space, with a DJ booth & bespoke sound-system: Jazu is a Hi-Fi Cocktail bar that offers serious drinks and music. In the kitchen, we run a rotation of pop-ups – with February being host to a month-long residency by GrillBird. A menu of yakitori & small plates, chefs Ben and Scott (previously of The Quality Chop House) adopt a no-waste ethos, using every part of the bird – which are sourced from Fosse Meadows Farm.There's Homemade Shokupan - a light and fluffy Japanese milk bread - served with Miso Butter; crunchy-coated Karaage chicken with hot maple syrup; and skewers that include Chicken Liver w/ Black Vinegar Caramel, and the Tsukune w/ tangy Gochujang & Cured Egg. For something sweet, there's Mitarashi Dango; traditional Japanese rice dumplings licked with a sweet soy glaze, served on a skewer with a sprinkling of peanuts and whipped cream.Previous residents include Lá Lôt; Duda Diner; Wavey Bar Hastings.
Canary Wharf workers have a new waterfront wine bar as Humble Grape opened on Mackenzie Walk, along the water’s edge.On the wine list you’ll find 30 wines by the glass (they’ll rotate these regularly) as well as more than 400 wines by the bottle all with the focus on wines from small family wineries that champion sustainable, organic, or biodynamic practices. Drink these beauties in or take-them home!Of course where there’s wine, there’s food. Open all day, kicking off with breakfast at 7.30am and running through to the evening. And if you’re looking for a new space to hold meetings, or a private bash, then we’ve got a private room for 20 guests along with another events space that can host up to 140 guests combined.
