Don’s Favorite Foods is a prix-fixe restaurant created by husband and wife team Chef Don Salamone and Kate Laurents in partnership with Sommelier Adam Galbraith. We also offer cocktails courtesy of Jeffrey Morgenthaler and Benjamin "Banjo" Amberg.Our Italian and French-influenced menu changes monthly and highlights dishes Don grew up with as well as those he mastered though his experiences working at Michelin-starred restaurants all over the country.From Don: At Don’s, you may find gnocchi like my Ma used to make or Italian sausage modeled after my Godfather’s, Oreste “Ernie” Capone. You might also find scallops still in their shells, Oregon pork in the style of Braciole, and popovers I learned to make from my mother-in-law, Terry, because the Laurents family makes those every Christmas morning... beef tartare, sea urchin, caviar, etc too.     Born into an Italian family, we wanted to experience an authentic meal. My wife and I were in town visiting our son for a few days and we said let's go eat at Mama Mia Trattoria. To summarize our meal and experience, the ambiance was perfect, the food was over the top and the ingredients were fresh, perfectly cooked, and tasty. The value of what one pays for this restaurant is a great deal. We will be back and Gracie!

    I cannot recommend this place enough! The food was outstanding. And that includes Portland restaurants. Best meal I’ve had all year. The setting and the ambience of the restaurant is warm, cute and vintage and just perfect. Don and his wife serve the food to the table with each course and tell you what to expect. It was exceptional. You won’t regret paying a visit to Don’s.
