There's free parking, lovely relaxed seating, a lively Shebeen bar and friendly staff waiting to serve exotic meats, espetadas - (our signature dish which is a skewer of meat or seafood, dripping with marinade over your side dish), sticky ribs and much more.     This is the second time we have visited for lunch, and one again 5 star, the service and menus were excellent. We would book more often but we live 50 minutes to the north,and the guest we meet are driving 50 minutes from the southwest. Will definitely book again ina couple of months

    Today was my mate John's birthday. I had arranged a birthday lunch for my mate John at The White Oak at Cookham. It's part of the Brucan Group. Me and my partner had eaten at their Finchampstead pub The Greyhound on several occasions so I guess I knew roughly what to expect. We started by sharing 6 oysters. Delicious. John had the grilled mackerel on squid Bolognese with samphire. Spot on. I had the steak tartare. Delightful. We both went for the braised beef shoulder on mustard mash. Cabbage seriously good. Absolutely delicious. They kindly presented John with a happy birthday plate of chocolate brownie or sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Made John smile. Thank you The White Oak for a perfect birthday lunch. Very highly recommended. Cheers...

    All good! Lovely service and very kind staff! The food was great. Did not wait too long. It is pricey, but I guess it's just London. With a couple of pounds less on each meal it would be perfect! I recommend the puddings. Wow.
