The Cumberland Bar serves Scottish food, real ale, classic wine and spirits in Edinburgh’s New Town. It takes about 15 minutes to reach its location at 1-3 Cumberland Street on foot from Waverley Station. Edinburgh Castle is about a 10 minute drive away from its premises and Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre can be reached within a 10 minute walk.     Really relaxed environment, near to university so mostly students serving students. Big selection of gins and whiskies. Food very tasty. Would definitely go again. All good, minimal fuss.

    I really love Southpour, it’s a great place which is modern & cosy. Staff are always polite & attentive, and there’s always a good choice of food & cocktails (my favourite). On a good bus route, which is great if you’re heading into town afterwards or for getting back to the suburbs.

    Delightful surprise on beautiful Rose St. Comfy neighborhood pub feel with fantastic upscale food at very reasonable prices. Had a group of 7 in a cozy booth for drinks, apps, and mains. Everything was superb. Sea bass was a standout - super fresh with lovely pea shoots on top and a beurre blanc-type sauce on the side. We will certainly return.
