Deme, short for Demeter, (the Greek Goddess of the Harvest) is a new Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Sea-inspired poolside eatery at Hotel Figueroa, with nods to the sea-faring communities along the Eastern Mediterranean Coast, Turkey, and Israel, led by Executive Chef Blake Shailes. Think: housemade Mediterranean dips served with freshly made pita bread using a combination of ancient Kamut flour and Tehachapi Farms Red Fife Flour, Crispy Lobster Kataifi, Turkish Manti (Turkish Lamb Dumplings), Lahmacun (Turkish Pizza // Spiced Wagyu Flatbread), a Greek-inspired Glazed Octopus & Grilled Grape Skewers, and large-format platters designed for shareable feasts including Slow Cooked Lamb Neck Shawarma, Half Heritage Chicken Mansaf and desserts including housemade Baklava, and housemade Soft Serve paired with a refreshing and playful cocktail program developed by Bar Director, Milosz Cieslak.     I frequented Zaytinya restaurants in DC and NYC over the last ten years, and was delighted when it opened on December 17 in Culver City. We just had our first dinner there, which was exquisite and almost brought tears to my eyes. I highly recommend it to one and all. The blend of Spanish, Greek, Lebanese, and Turkish recipes and flavors is out of this world. Many thanks to Jose Andres and his fabulous team and wonderful work.

    Zeze the server was amazing, only person on the floor and trending bar that night with 4 tables of 6 or more people! And she did wonderful, we felt bad she didn’t have any help! Food was great

    First time dining at Tabla by Sofi and I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. Gary our host/waiter was very entertaining and engaging and made our dinner fun and enjoyable. I recommend eating here.

    Everything was made fresh and with great quality food. We ordered the grilled octopus, it had great flavor & grilled nicely but still very chewy and somewhat tough. Probably should have been boiled a little longer before grilling. Lamb chops were the best dish but the portions were small. All in all 6.8 out of 10 bigger portions would change my mind
