Populairste Italiaanse restaurants in Los Altos

We loved the festive atmosphere. The food was delicious (salads and bolognese). We were particularly grateful for the gluten-free pasta, which was quite good. It was a busy night, which may have led to the service being a bit lacking.

After 30 years on the east coast during which we made occasional visits to Cafe Pro Bono, my wife and I returned to Palo Alto two years ago and quickly adopted this restaurant as our hands-down favorite SF Bay Area favorite. The menu is sufficiently varied that even at 2 or 3 dinners a week, we never get bored. Owner Akif Aydin and his remarkable waitstaff have become like family—always very welcoming and attentive without being obsequious. Especially important to my wife and me: Our frequent requests to split appetizers and entrees are always honored without question or surcharge. Must try dishes: Susan’s Downfall, salads featuring warm goat cheese, Veal Piccata, and Panna cotta.

We have dined there for years and have had several parties there and the food and the service has been excellent.

Great find for our 7th anniversary dinner. Service was prompt with a lot of personal touch (given that it was our anniversary) and food was excellent!

Incredible meal as usual, Pompeii never disappoints!
