Established in 2016, the newest addition to the Zushi restaurant empire is in Sydney’s impressive new harbour foreshore playground. Zushi Barangaroo is both stylish and comfortable, capturing the relaxed style of a typical Japanese bar or izakaya designed by the renowned architect Koichi Takada. Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Overall - it was alright. sashimi was fresh and the sushi was somewhat authentic. However, it is deafening inside and waiters have a hard time paying attention to you. And for the price I paid, I think I can find a restaurant that is more authentic and of better quality. The sushi rice was clearly machine-made and it just didn't have the extra mile I expect from mid to high price range restaurants.

This is my new favourite restaurant in sydney! Not only is it the best Japanese I’ve had the service is amazing. The whole team is kind and polite and make you feel so welcome to be there! Thank you so much to Pam and Debra our host and waitress. You’ve made our trip so much more memorable.

Ambiance and music is great. Service is outstanding. Love the daily specials and happy hour cocktails. The tacos are so good and the custard bao donut is to die for.
