One of the keys to Upstate's success is its commitment to freshness. So much so that there isn't even a freezer in the building as everything is brought in fresh daily.Obviously, the oysters and clams are what most patrons come for, and Upstate's selection of west and east coast varieties changes every day, depending on what is available. That's certainly not the only thing on the menu, though. Guests can try out shared plates of house cured salmon, crab cakes, squid salad and even sea urchin.

Love our meal at strange delight. The room is surprisingly beautiful. The cocktails were very well-made. And the dishes we tried were wonderful. Prices are definitely high, the gin ramos fizz is $10 more than when it was reviewed in August, but I would return. The food, drinks and ambulance were wonderful.

It was a wonderful Christmas dinner! Food was excellent and the whole service crew was very friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Jasmine who has been phenomenal! We learned about the Christmas cabin from her the last time we were at the restaurant!

Celebrated our 65 wedding anniversary. Have eaten here before. Staff was so kind. Treated us to a glass of champagne. Helped us choose what to order. Shared razor clams, clam chowder, clams and shrimp. All very good. A surprise cheesecake ended our lunch. Would highly recommend.
