Populairste Portugese restaurants in Barbican

Portuguese tapas are so good, especially at Bar Douro. They have Portuguese waitresses, and as a Portuguese person, I love that because, honestly, people who go to Bar Douro get recommendations from people who have eaten Portuguese food all their lives. They know what they are recommending for you. The sausage croquettes, the octopus salad, the potatoes with garlic, the prawns ( Gambás ao Guilho” the Bacalhau a Bras, and the Artichoke salad were our pick tonight, and it didn't disappoint at all; we also had the Pasteis de nata with cinnamon ice cream and the Portuguese style fig cake with vanilla ice cream. We had a fantastic choice of food, and honestly, next time, I will eat the cod fish fritters because they are excellent, too. My friend enjoyed her birthday dinner. The Ginjinha cocktails were refreshing and tasty, and the port wine was great for dessert.

A great ambience enhanced by super service- my allergy was resolved quickly. The wine was good value and the food exquisite Highly recommended by the 4 of us.

Great food and the staff is exceptionally helpful with explaining menus, options and recommendations.

We had to leave our table unexpectedly because my fiend received a call to say his son was being taken to hospital following an accident. The manager waived the cost of the water and helped us exit immediately. It was very compassionate and kind. We shall return and cannot commend the staff enough.
