A modern pub serving a frequently changing menu, available in our dining room, bar, and outside ledges. It's not fine dining, nor is it trying to be. We cook in a way that we as cooks like to eat, so don’t be afraid to share. If you want to pop in for a burger and a pint, feel free to grab any available space in the bar or outside. We accept bookings for tables of up to six people in the dining room.It can be loud and slightly chaotic; at night it is dark. We turn tables because we need to in order to survive and pay the people that make it work, so please don’t be offended if we ask you to wait a moment for your table. The burger is great and even better we were very kindly given fried potatoes with aioli for free - these were to die for and I’m so glad we didn’t miss out on them! Worth every penny

Decided to pop into the Dark horse for a Sunday roast with my family. Quite simply one of the best if not the best roast dinners I've had. The beef was perfectly cooked, the crackling on the pork was special. The veg were cooked to perfection and although everything was so good, the gravy stood out as one of the best I've ever had. Service was warm, confident and efficient, with the waitress helping us through our choices. The venue has a great vibe to it, which you'd expect being part of Camden stables. All in all every thing was spot on. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely night and loved every bit of The Good Reader. What a transformation of the former pub! It has fantastic athmosphere, very arty and super welcoming. The food is excellent. Highly recommend it!! We will be regulars :)
