Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber… John Dory, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores and although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name it also has a very British name, John Dory. Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ – Like a few other Latin occupational names (e.g. Agricola for farmer, Nauta for sailor). Smith being the most common name in English we decided it sits well with our name as we want to be accessible to all and give everyday people the opportunity to be part of our journey and own the business they work in.What sets us apart is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients. Lovely laid put restaurant and bar areas with cosy corners. Fantastic views of the Thames. Scrumptious food and our waitress was e tremendous attentive and helpful. Enjoyed this visit immensely.

Harvey, our waiter was very attentive and showed an interest in the menu choices too making the selection process much easier for all. The setting of the restaurant is fabulous and overall it was such a pleasant lunch. I will be coming back again soon maybe even before Xmas if I can get in. Thanks again.

I had a lovely lunch at The Tartine Food House Restaurant yesterday, with my Mum and my Sister. We had a super late lunch booking at 2.45pm so I couldn't properly tell you about the ambience as there was only us an one other table in the whole restaurant. But the staff were lovely and friendly, the food was delicious and the service impeccable. I would like to go back there during a regular lunch or dinner service, when I'd be able to experience the restaurant in full swing :)
