Olio Kensington Street is a modern Italian restaurant opened by award-winning chef Lino Sauro in early 2017. Located in The Old Rum Store, it features a contemporary indoor dining room and a rooftop terrace overlooking Chippendale. The menu showcases Sauro’s passion for Italian cuisine, incorporating quality produce and fresh flavours. With a focus on seasonal ingredients and traditional Italian touches, Olio offers a menu that celebrates Italy’s culinary heritage in a modern way.
Here at Zafferano, we like to keep things a little old school, from sourcing to serving, our key values remain. Simone, the Head Chef and co-owner of Zafferano grew up inside the kitchen of his family's restaurant in Porticello, Sicily and brings that passion and authenticity to his food. We combine local, fresh, seasonal ingredients with passion and tradition, to create a menu that is endlessly devoted to flavour and quality. We have a love for food, for the whole experience. We believe in celebrating just how powerful food can be, from the seed to the plate. Because connection through food is our mission. Our space is intimate with only 38 seats and the overall vibe of the restaurant really transports you to Sicily with an outdoor courtyard that feels like a traditional Italian piazza. We have a few signature dishes however the Risotto Marinara & Spaghetti Marinara are definitely at the for front of our menu.

It’s our tradition in evolution, continuing our journey guided by fond memories of my mother’s Italian home cooking. They say there’s two sides to every story - so stay a while and hear ours. We might be from Cortina, but we’ve made this place our home. And both places define us.

We revolve our dishes around the amazing Pecorino Romano cheese wheel, imported once a month, fresh from Sardinia, Italy.
