Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength. Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. We also received the Thai select award from the UK Thai Embassy which certifies authenticity and the freshness of our ingredients.We’re a young team of enthusiastic individuals, who over the last few years have bought our passion and skills to the table. In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. Fabulous as always! The Green Papaya Salad & soups are magnificent favorites. As are the salmon and Pad Thai dishes. Remains our “go-to”in “the ‘hood” with friends and family and out-of-towners, and when it’s just the two of us. Can’t be beat for a truly delicious casual meal.

Excellent cheerful service and food was served extremely fast for a quick lunch with a difference, that is a 3 course lunch within 1hr. Tasty curry and best coconut rice ever tasted. Quiet and cosy atmosphere, ideal if you want to have a business conversation...

Excellent food, great atmosphere, very welcoming hosts! The overall experience couldn't have been better. Both all you can eat options (sushi and tempura) were absolutely delicious and without the usual limitations (time and quantity) provided by other restaurants of this type. Highly recommended!
