Named after probably Broadstairs's most famous previous resident, The Charles Dickens pub and dining rooms in Broadstairs had a complete refurbishment and re opened in the summer of 2012. This is one of the largest pubs in Broadstairs, with the main bar downstairs and the dining room and bars upstairs commanding excellent views of Viking Bay. The casual dining experience allows you to take in the relaxed atmosphere of Broadstairs whilst enjoying the best views of the bay in town.

The Captain Digby, a family friendly restaurant and bar which caters for all ages & occasions, with sea views overlooking Kingsgate Bay. We serve generously portioned fresh, home cooked food from our bar, restaurant & children's menu. Food is served from 12 noon each day, all day until late check our operating hours before arrival.Choose from our family dining area, close to our indoor play area or our cliff top restaurant with sea views. Alfresco dining is available with 40 benches overlooking the bay but these are non-reservable and work on a first come first served basis. Please note we can not guarantee window tables. We do not allow dogs inside our venue but they are welcome in our outside dining areas. Being so close to the shoreline we tend to have issues regarding internet connections and advise all customers also bring cash as an alternative payment.

Lighting is low, volume can get high and the intimate booth seating is a perfect facilitator for conversation. Our menu is comprised of snacks, appetisers, larger plates and deserts made entirely in-house* and their flavour profiles are amplified with chillis, herbs and citrus being heavily inspired by Los Angeles' multiculturalism.Our restaurant is compact and cosy with no extra space to accommodate prams and large dogs - if you do need to bring your dog to dinner please ensure they are comfortable in a busy restaurant atmosphere and are happy sitting on your lap or fit comfortably under your table. We welcome children in the restaurant however we do not have highchairs or a children’s menu. We have tailored the room to provide a fun, grown-up and safe space for all our guests and team. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. It was so good to find GF and vegan options. In fact they offer a varied menu and we all were spoilt for choice. Loved the Cauliflower popcorns

Pleasant surprise, found the best Sunday roast dinner we have had in ages. Can't recommend enough. Lovely old pub, superb atmosphere and fantastic service.

The food was amazing. Every bite was such a perfect mouthful. The service was perfect. They left you alone but attentive at the same time. It’s a hidden Gem. I didn’t know it existed until we saw it on Facebook. Will be going back in a few weeks.

A gorgeous little restaurant. Lovely from the moment we walked in. The staff were fabulous and friendly. Amy chose our dishes and wine pairings for us from the guest chef menu, all of which was incredible and delicious!
