In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. We had the best Christmas Eve dinner at Frank’s! The decorations were breathtaking, our waitress Kayla was attentive and personable and the food was incredible. My cousin and I had the petite skirt steak dinner complete with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach which was the perfect amount of food and so delicious. Highly recommend that. Other members of our party had the petite filet mignon which was also incredibly delicious and to top it off we ended the night with the rainbow cookie cake and chocolate mousse. Unbelievable!!! My daughter and mother could not get enough! Thank you Frank’s for the perfect Christmas Eve experience. We will definitely be back.
