In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. Reservations was for a Wednesday night and it was lovely. Quiet intimate birthday dinner for 2 with beautiful ambiance. And the food was great. However the oysters and Brussels sprout side wasn’t available but there were good replacements. Waitress was very attentive and the birthday man was more than satisfied with everything. Next time we reserve, it’ll be on a show night. Thanks for a great time.

Such a perfect night -we sat at the bar (love a bar stool with a back) and had great wine, brick oven pizza, and romantic ambience.

The service at Beginnings is ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL. The food was outstanding just wish certain things were a little hotter. In this economy, the value of what you get is IMPRESSIVE! Will certainly be back

Service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed a large house salad, chicken sandwich and the best Goodfellas burger with delicious French fries. The Wise Guy cocktail is always my favorite and the beer choices are excellent. We can't wait to go back. It is a great place to meet up with friends or come to see one of their special presentations.
