Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community. The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet. Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was exceptional and Jacki personally stopped by our table to offer information about the live music that would be happening after the rugby game. She did it so politely and pleasantly that it made one feel welcome to stay on and enjoy the entertainment. Meal was delivered quickly and very tasty. Would love to make the Rose and Crown our local but unfortunately live 85 miles away. Thank you for a pleasant visit. Will recommend to friends.

The team were very friendly, and helpful. Good selection of craft beers, lots of TVs for sport and they have Quiz Nights, Karaoke, DJs, Bottomless Brinches, just everything! We'll definitely be back
