Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea. Visited on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Flavours were delicious and the service was excellent! Particularly enjoyed the fillet with red curry flavours, Neil's flourless chocolate cake, and definitley the twist on the Old Fashioned. Will visit again, highly recommended!

My mates and I had a great time. It can get a bit stressful as you only have 60 minutes to order and get as much food as you want. Then you have an extra 30 mins to finish and cook the rest of your food. Between the 5 of us we had one grill so we felt the time pressure. However, the ambiance and quality of the food was fantastic for the standard package. You also don’t walk out smelling like charcoaled meats! My friends and I will definitely come back.
