Beste knusse restaurants in Rice Village

We love this special little place in Rice Village. Whenever we are in town we try to get a reservation because they are consistently good and have a nice twist to traditional Greek offerings. As many restaurants going through and surviving the pandemic, they have had to adjust their offerings and we think they have planned well. We dined on the most beautiful chicken at Helen’s on Christmas Eve that took me back to the Greek home-cooking I grew up eating. Their selection of Greek wines are always wonderful and the appetizer and salad last night were delish! One would expect that a restaurant could be a bit “off” on a holiday evening, but not this kitchen nor the staff. It was perfection from start to finish and we just wish they were in Austin instead of Houston!

We’ve been going to Rabelais for close to Twenty years! Love the food, staff and ambience. It gives me so much joy just being there. We go there when we are sad and need to feel the love and to celebrate milestones! This was our first Christmas Eve! So warm and cozy!

This is my second time at Milton’s. I love the vibe. The waitstaff is extremely seasoned. I know a few from other restaurants that I visited a lot, but are now closed. Milton’s was lucky to get them. The food is wonderful. The misto is my favorite, also the iceberg salad. The arancini is as good as I had in Sicily. The whole fish, Branzino, is stellar. It’s a very intimate and casual space.

Antonio was our server and he was excellent. We have had Antonio as our server before and he always provides excellent and quality service. We usually order the same Burgundy wine and was looking in the by the glass section and forgot to look in the bottle section and did not see it but he remembered the name of the wine for us. We love Coppa and it is our go to.

Great food. A bit cramped as it is small quarters, but overall very good. Will go again.
