Unreal place and the service was 10/10 it’s just a shame they don’t have a phone. With the state of Manchester City centre roads now because of cycle lanes and one way, it isn’t easy to get in on time despite leaving extra early! So there no way to contact them if you’re going to be late! Food was magnificent and we’d be back again

The refuge is a lovely place to visit- we had the small plates which were ok but not nearly as good as the last time we came. The prawns were mushy and tasteless, the salad nicoise had undercooked potatoes and the chicken was a bit bland and not crispy enough - to be honest, the best thing was the sourdough bread! Such a shame as it was a treat visiting family for a treat.

Celebrated our son’s 20th birthday dinner. Peter steered us right with every decision around our meal. We shared an 800 porterhouse cooked to perfection. Excellent starters, sides, cocktails and dessert. Incredibly happy with our decision to celebrate. Restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night but service never slipped. A nice vibe, music is a bit on the high side but it doesn’t take away from the experience.

This is a real gem in Ancoats, fantastic authentic food made from scratch, absolutely delicious! Great friendly service from all staff and great passion from the chefs! This was recommended to me by friends and I can absolutely see why. Don’t miss this experience.
