Welcome to The Magpie. I love this place. Food good, mostly. But this time the dessert was not quite as hoped with a great deal of ersatz chocolate sauce on profiteroles that were supposed to be caramel, which was disappointing, but the burger and fish finger sandwich were excellent. The service was slow because of a very loud large group next to us who took priority. But we weren’t in a rush luckily. I’m looking forward to the lobster roll being back on as indicated on the website menu, but I always seem to go when it’s not ‘in season’ I am told.

Adult son wanted a "nice pizza" for birthday celebration - 6 adults, with some differing dietary requirements (veg, etc). All were catered for. Cocktails also. Pizzas were fantastic quality, Linguini, and Risottos were also one of the best had for a long while. Wasn't busy about half full, very good service, and a good night all round. We will be back!
