Vita Nova is the signature student-operated restaurant which is part of the Hospitality Business Management program at the University of Delaware.Vita Nova features a "Best of Delaware" award-winning lunch buffet Mon-Fri and elegant fine dining Wed-Fri during the fall and spring semesters. For lunch, the students offer fresh, local dishes including gourmet salads, soups, pastas, entrees, fire-roasted flatbreads, cheese board and mini sweets. The five-course dinner begins with a fusion-inspired appetizer trio and choice of salad, followed by intermezzo and your choice of entrée. The evening ends on a sweet note with a decadent dessert. Amici's Fine Dining & Spirits is an Italian restaurant that features authentic cuisine from Northern and Southern Italy as well as the island nation of Sicily. The interior of the restaurant is extremely spacious, with the dining area essentially being one large room, rather than broken up into smaller spaces. Amici's hosts several events throughout the month including wine tasting and painting nights where guests are brought in to enjoy a meal while taking an art lesson from a certified teacher.
Amici's menu hits all the culinary regions of Italy. Starters include stuffed portabello mushrooms, crispy fried calamari, baked clams oregananto, crab cakes, grilled garlic shrimp and a combo platter with several of these items for large parties. Entrees include classic items like veal saltimbocca, fettuccine alfredo, capellini primavera and a chicken Sorrentino that is layered with eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella cheese in a light white wine sauce.
