The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor. Great restaurant, had never been before but tried it on a date night with my wife and was extremely impressed with the ambience (no loud music blaring so you could actually talk), comfortable chairs and tables, attentive, friendly, and genial staff, excellent food! Would 5/5 recommend to anyone.

This wasn't our first visit to Barbarella's and it won't be the last. I love this restaurant! I love the feeling of being here, every dish we have tried is delicious and the service is always top notch. Our waiter Christian took such great care of us and provided us the most excellent experience. If you haven't already been here please don't wait too long, it will be a night out you won't forget.

Great food, good happy hour specials. The ambiance and decor is fun. The oysters were great - nice selection of sauces. I had the Fundy Scallops and loved it - good for low-carb folk. My husband had mussels and the sauce was so good I wanted to drink it! The service was fine, nothing to complain about.
