Bright and airy, with a vintage retro style and featuring distressed wooden tables topped in white marble, salvage greenhouse window frames and comfy linen banquettes, Salt continues Avoca’s emphasis on serving delicious, seasonal dishes with largely locally sourced ingredients. Salt's name comes its Salthill locale - which itself was derived from salt works that were once here - plus the nearby sea and, of course, the seasoning. Menus are fresh and interesting (see below), with plenty of appetizing salads and lighter lunch dishes, reasonably priced for the casual mid-week crowd.

Located on the sixth floor of The Mayson Hotel is Ryleigh’s Rooftop Restaurant, with outdoor terrace. Excellent food with the right size portions for a 3 course meal. The complementary small tasty soup is a lovely gesture and all the courses are beautifully presented and taste great. Warm but unobtrusive service and no rushing customers to get the table back. Highly recommended.

Really lovely experience from start to finish. Service was really attentive and friendly. Lovely menu and we all enjoyed everything we ordered, from delicious bruschetta and aubergine parmigiana to gorgeous whole black sole, mushroom ravioli and seafood pasta. The homemade tiramisu was divine also! Looking forward to going back!
