The sign represents Sir Winston Churchill, an expert bricklayer and whose home was at nearby Chartwell.We pride ourselves on getting involved with the local community and providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors. When booking a table in the evening, please be aware that we are a residential home and as such we ask that guests depart the restaurant by 09:00pm and have consideration for our neighbor's when leaving.Please be aware when visiting that there is a security gate on entry, the code for which is written on the gate, you will need to exit your vehicle to input the code. The Plough isn't your average countryside pub. Sitting on a quiet lane in a quintessentially English village, The Plough was set to be sold off the developers when 120 members of the community came together to invest, and save, their local. After its purchase and renovation, the Yates family took over the kitchen and opened the pub's small, but proud, restaurant, Bowleys. Head Chef Alex Yates is still very early on in his career but though only in his early twenties, he has already spent two years in the kitchens at The Goring Hotel in London, as well as having gained experience with Rick Stein and even once cooking for the Queen. Bowleys menus have a traditional feel and adhere to classic, English fare with a fine dining twist. There are several options to choose between including a tasting menu, set lunch, a la carte, brunch and Sunday lunch. The tasting menu is the jewel in Bowleys crown and consists of five courses, with an optional sixth.

Excellent Christmas lunch at The Vineyard. Food was very well prepared and presented. Staff were excellent. It wax exactly what we needed on Christmas Day -- classic food but well presented.

Always great here. Really good value the set menu is fabulous. Food always lovely . New waitress who did really well however my only tiny criticism is never enough staff but hey ho .

We were a group of 5 that dined yesterday for lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes, all extremely well presented and nothing left on our plates! The service was spot on, lovely young girl who was most polite. Only negative was that we were a little cold but luckily, seated by the fire, we did eventually warm up.

Really recommend the Pavilion. Have been here multiple times for the Sunday roast and recently visited for dinner on Saturday. The menu options were great and the food was of very high quality. Great value for money in this day and age! Service was great as well - they’re always super lovely and welcoming.
