Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios.     Blacked cod with braised chard was soggy. Supposed to be fresh but it was soggy not flaky. Pasta under cooked rubbery. Servers polite and very nice.

    We will defintely be back! Decided to try The Exchange for lunch. Reserved a table by the window. We were greeted by our server upon entry and taken to our table immediately. The menu is excellent as is the wine list. We started with Castroville Artichoke and it was a delicious blend of balsamic, parmesan, and aioli. We both ordered the NY steak sandwich on focaccia and they were an excellent cut - cooked perfectly. I had clam chowder with my sandwich and it was worth the visit all by itself - creamy and flavorful with lots of clams and bacon. I also enjoyed a glass of Bokisch Tempranillo - a local favorite! Our server was attentive and very pleasant. Can't think of a better way to enjoy a rainy afternoon!
