We are happy to welcome dogs into our Bar Area Only. Please note, we only serve food in the Bar from 12-3 MON-SAT (excluding Sundays when we exclusively serve food in our restaurant). Named after probably Broadstairs's most famous previous resident, The Charles Dickens pub and dining rooms in Broadstairs had a complete refurbishment and re opened in the summer of 2012. This is one of the largest pubs in Broadstairs, with the main bar downstairs and the dining room and bars upstairs commanding excellent views of Viking Bay. The Captain Digby, a family friendly restaurant and bar which caters for all ages & occasions, with sea views overlooking Kingsgate Bay. We serve generously portioned fresh, home cooked food from our bar, restaurant & children's menu. Food is served from 12 noon each day, all day until late check our operating hours before arrival.Choose from our family dining area, close to our indoor play area or our cliff top restaurant with sea views. Alfresco dining is available with 40 benches overlooking the bay but these are non-reservable and work on a first come first served basis. Please note we can not guarantee window tables. We do not allow dogs inside our venue but they are welcome in our outside dining areas. Being so close to the shoreline we tend to have issues regarding internet connections and advise all customers also bring cash as an alternative payment.

Lovely food served in the small plates style. Good selection of dishes on the menu. Cosy atmosphere with friendly and engaging staff. Sensibly priced (£58 inc service for 2 of us sharing 4 dishes and our glasses of beer).

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. It was so good to find GF and vegan options. In fact they offer a varied menu and we all were spoilt for choice. Loved the Cauliflower popcorns
