The Duke of Wellington Inn is nestled in the tranquil Tyne valley village of Newton just off the A69 near Corbridge, within easy access to Newcastle, Hadrian"s Wall Country, Hexham and Northumberland's National Park. The décor reflects the traditional country inns history but with a modern twist. Existing oak and stone has been enhanced with modern colours, furniture and fabrics, and the theme extends to the bedrooms.Lunches and dinners are served seven days a week in the bar and dining room. The food provided is traditional British comfort eating to an exceptional standard and makes use of local, seasonal ingredients. Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Made to feel welcome and looked after throughout the whole evening. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable, and literally made our experience a one to not forget. Outstanding food and attention to detail. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Wonderful experience. Fabulous service, setting and food. No complaints. The toilets could do with being a little warmer perhaps though!

The restaurant was fairly quiet, seated quickly and drinks and food orders taken promptly, menu items explained, staff friendly. The wait for the food was about 35 minutes however it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT! We are a family of 2 adults and 2 teens and there were clean plates all around. Beautifully cooked and presented, excellent quality and flavour and clearly fresh and cooked to order. The lamb and mint pie with home cooked chips was a highlight, one of the best pies I’ve ever had.
