Marleys was opened in 2018 by young local couple, Mark & Charly. It's a culmination of fresh, seasonal and local ingredients - served by the friendliest team, and truly produced with love, thought and care. We serve lunch, dinner and weekend breakfast in a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. We focus on 'British Comfort Food', with a little extra attention to detail. The Royal Oak is a charming 19th century pub in the village of River near Dover in Kent. Formed from 18th century flint cottages we have been serving the village for over 150 years. A friendly warm welcome compliments our range of real ales, lagers, ciders and stout. From a morning coffee or hot chocolate to a late night spirit we will look after you. There is nothing quite so English than taking Afternoon Tea.Here at the Hythe Imperial we like to honour this tradition by offering over 10 selections of tea, finely cut sandwiches, delicate pastries and freshly baked scones with clotted cream.Combine the atmosphere with a great selection of Afternoon Teas to choose from to make an unforgettable afternoon by the Sea.Please note that outside dining under our gazebos can only be arranged over the phone as spaces are limited. Please note that we require a non-refundable deposit of £15pp for tables of 4 and above.
Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.
