Wonderful meal for two in a peaceful, hospitable atmosphere.

We loved the festive afternoon tea, it put a really unique twist on a classic. The decoration and interior is top quality.

The afternoon tea was great, i would have been nice if the christmas menu was already out especially with the winter illuminations down the road, it makes a whole day of festive experience

Beautiful setting - afternoon tea in front if an open fire. Staff were extremely courteous and attentive. The free chocolates for the birthday guest was a lovely touch! And there was unlimited tea. The standard scones were deliscious and the clotted cream to die for. Disappointing the jam was in jars not a dish, there was no butter and the birthday girl's gluten free scone was more like a biscuit than a scone - too thin and shattered when split. The cakes were OK but nothing special - carrot cake and chocolate brownies pretty basic, and for £85 for three I was expecting something a bit more special - maybe at least one cream cake. The gf sandwiches were too dry to eat. Overall a lovely afternoon sipping tea in front of the fire, but turned out to be not the best birthday treat for someone who's gluten free.

The chicken sandwich is very sad so don’t bother. The appetizers are good. Service is good.
