The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch. Absolutely outstanding, best afternoon tea I’ve ever been to and worth every penny. The food was amazing, the staff couldn’t have been better. The thought and detail that goes into the themes is breathtaking. I cannot wait to return! Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

This pub is fast becoming a firm favourite - every time we go , they are so friendly and accommodating ! We have been this afternoon - Christmas Eve and just for drinks - and they were happy for us to do that, even though some pubs would insist on meals . The decoration is fabulous and we had a great time !
