Culinary artistry, inspired by historic Greco-Roman feasts. The Mediterranean’s finest ingredients are given centre-stage, and dishes are finished at table to theatrical acclaim. Breath-taking interiors by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, where classical myths are retold through a modern palette of the most refined materials, and comforts to sink into. Dramatic artworks by Damien Hirst soar over the dining area, whilst the eye falls on piece after piece of original, antique sculpture.
Fergus Henderson’s original home of “Nose to Tail Eating” opened in a former smokehouse around the corner from Smithfield Market in 1994.Celebrating the finest of indigenous British produce and making the most of what is seasonally best whilst applying straight forward cooking techniques, St. John is now celebrated as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World and in 2009 was awarded its first Michelin Star.Nose to tail eating means that, where appropriate, every part of the animal should be put to good use in the kitchen and so along with Roast Beef and Lemon Sole, diners will find Rolled Pig’s Spleen, Kidneys and Ox Heart, Liver and Chitterlings as well as the Roast Bone Marrow & Parsley Salad, something of a ‘signature’ dish.
We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.
