Way back in 1975, the Sail Loft lit the fire for Steve Silverstein, who went on to open nearly 40 restaurants. Located in the quintessential seaside village of Padanaram, it was the neighborhood place where you could get a good (strong) drink, chef prepared comfort food and relax in a convivial atmosphere with familiar faces. The Sail Loft was everyone’s favorite place; it was a hangout where some came for food and others for drink.When the Sail Loft became available in 2021, Steve jumped on the opportunity to take the wheel. Steve and his wife Judy transformed the Sail Loft into an elevated neighborhood restaurant with a distinct updated boatyard feel. The spot is nautical with a chef-driven yet approachable menu, a deep selection of spirts and an intriguing wine list. The waitress was more interested in chatting around the bar, seating at the high chairs or talking in the kitchen. She was not very attentive. The service was very slow and as we had other drinks she never cleaned the old glasses from the table. Besides that the restaurant was not busy at all. It looks like there was no manager on duty, or if there was one he was not doing his job also. About the food everything was great except the old bread that was served with the Mozambique mussels.

This has quickly become one of our favorites! It’s adorable, focused on local businesses, has great choices from sit down dinner to grab and go. Service is fantastic and everyone is so friendly. Prices are great and food is delicious.

The downstairs experience is like a total Boston speakeasy vibe!! The lighting, booths, and just all around vibe was the perfect mix. The food was above expectations and the martini was *chefs kiss! Perfect for girls night, date night, or just a nice meal.
