A good straight forward village pub with a wide menu and good beer. Interesting antique decor. Never seen so many meat mincers in one place before….

Very pleasant and helpful waiting staff which is really important. I enjoyed the vegetable tempura which I have had before but would have preferred a higher ratio of vegetable to batter. Kohlrabi croquettes were good as was the gin cured trout.

We enjoyed the whole experience of the meal, it is such a warm and friendly place with so much history and character. The food was amazing, went on Steak night (Thursday) and the choices of different cuts of meat, sauces and sides were great. All four of us enjoyed our meals and had with different combos of sides, starters and main meals which was great. The service was fantastic again and has been on all three occasions we have previously visited. Definitely recommend to anyone.
