South Block is a North-Carolina inspired BBQ hall and brewery on the edge of Mission, in Calgary. Upstairs you’ll find a large dining room, 20-seat bar, and a year-round indoor/outdoor beer garden. Downstairs hosts our stage, live music hall, and brewerey – where we brew our entire draft lineup from classic staples like our Pilsner, Lager, and IPAs, to our unique seasonal Peach Bourbon Ale and Mango Wheat Ale.Behind the bar, we run a hand-crafted cocktail program and offer a whiskey list of over 200 varietals, including American, Canadian, Irish, Scottish, and Japanese whiskeys. However, the biggest draw has to be our slow-smoked barbecue menu. Inspired by the flavours of North Carolina, our team arrives early every morning to smoke our famous brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and more for up to 14 hours.

We believe that a true craft brewery brings individuals together to enjoy some well-crafted beer, eat delicious food, celebrate life’s milestones and most importantly cherish one another’s company. 17th Avenue is iconic for just this reason; bringing people together in good times and bad.In the early stages of our city, the area we all know as the Beltline was called the No.5 Trolley Line. It proudly carried all the hard working Calgarians that shaped our city into what it is today. Our goal at Trolley 5 is to continue to bring the community together through great food, beer and friendship. With beers like our Turntable Lager winning Best Lager/Pilsner at the Canadian Brewing Awards, there is lots to try in our Community Brewpub. We are dedicated to our craft and we can’t wait to share it.
