Smakeloos kantine voer! Lang geleden dat we zo slecht gegeten hebben. Terwijl we ons nog aan het verbazen waren over het zeer matige voorgerecht verscheen het hoofdgerecht. Een gooi en smijt tent die alleen vanwege het “verleden” klanten weet te trekken. Jammer van deze avond!!

I wish I could report a better experience for my Thanksgiving dinner. I had booked my reservation for one, well in advance knowing that Fraunces Tavern is a very popular restaurant in New York City. The staff that I interacted with were friendly and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, for such a busy evening it did not seem that they had the staffing to support the huge crowd. Additionally, the prefix menu was $100 and my soup was moderately warm, and my dinner plate seemed that it has been plated and sat for a bit before it was served. It was a very expensive and unfortunately just mediocre experience.

The decor was festive and fun. The food was good. The service was very poor. I am tired to going to restaurants that want to believe they are “fancy” and charge high prices but the wait staff has no idea how to serve. It ruins the whole experience.

The food and service were very good. The restaurant is charming with its authentic rooms from the days of President George Washington. Seating in many of the rooms are on wooden benches (yes, they do have backs)!

What a charming place! The food was good. Service was very slow but maybe it was meant to be a relaxing experience. Glad we were there for Thanksgiving dinner.

My experience here was globally correct. Food and drink were delicious, waiters were very nice, and most of all the place is wonderful! It’s super pretty, cosy, and very well decorated for the holidays. However, I booked a table with OpenTable at lunch for Thanksgiving, and when I arrived they told me it was impossible to seat me. Also, it was mandatory to order the 99$ Thanksgiving meal, which was NEVER specified anywhere on OpenTable. Fortunately, when seated at the bar (but at the bar ONLY…), it was possible to chose between burger and tenders for a correct price.
